In pursuing our vision of providing natural gas to Sub-saharan Africa we have been investing in natural gas pipeline development across various parts of the country, bringing natural gas closer to our consumers in the industrial, commercial and residential sectors. Below is a list of successfully executed natural gas pipeline development projects since our inception in 2000 to present.
1. 10km Greater Lagos Gas Pipeline (Phase 1A)
In 2000, we began the foundation of the 10km Greater Lagos Phase 1 natural gas pipeline development project, becoming the first private sector company involved in piping and distribution of natural gas to residential, commercial and industrial consumers.
2. 14km Greater Lagos Gas Pipeline (Phase 1B)
In 2002, we embarked on the Greater Lagos (Phase 1B) natural gas pipeline developments which spanned a total length of 14km.
3. 84km Greater Lagos Gas Pipeline (Phase 2)
By 2005, we had moved to Phase 2 of our Greater Lagos Gas Pipeline project which spanned 84km in length. We also completed gas infrastructure projects for Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, Dangote Sugar Plc. and Nigerian Breweries Plc. in the same year, boosting our expertise in natural gas pipeline development.
4. 113km Greater Lagos Gas Pipeline (Phase 3)
Surpassing our previous achievements in natural gas pipeline development, we went on to lay a 113km gas pipeline in 2008 for Phase 3 of our Greater Lagos Pipeline Project.
5. East Horizon Gas Company 128km Gas Pipeline
In 2011, we established East Horizon Gas Company (EHGC) with a significant energy infrastructure asset of a 128km natural gas pipeline that ran through Akwa Ibom State and Cross River State to serve South-Eastern Nigeria. The company has however been divested.
6. Greater Lagos IV Natural Gas Pipeline Development
In 2019, our subsidiary, Gaslink Nigeria Limited, developed the Greater Lagos IV (GLIV) gas pipeline network. This project was done in partnership with the Nigerian Gas Marketing Company (NGMC with an investment of $30 million. The pipeline spans from Ijora through Lagos Island’s Marina axis and supplies gas to commercial and industrial off-takers along its route.
7. 18km Natural Gas Pipeline in South West Nigeria to Rite Foods Factory in Ososa.
In 2021, we completed our 18km natural gas pipeline development project to run from Ibefun to Rite Foods Limited’s large-scale factory in Ososa, Ogun State. The project was executed via Axxela’s subsidiary brand Transit Gas Nigeria Limited, and in partnership with the Nigerian Gas Marketing Company Limited.
